MEDULLOBLASTOMA SHH TYPE – 1 year old female

  • Arise from GNP cells from the cerebellar surface – mostly hemispheric
  • Second most common MB subgroup (~25%)
  • Bimodal distribution:
    – infants
    – adults (>16 years)
  • Diffusion plays a key role in distinguishing MB from other DDx
  • Desmoplastic/nodular MB are almost always from the SHH subgroup
  • SHH TP-mutant – worse prognosis
  • SHH TERT promoter mutation in adults – better prognosis
